Being afflicted with this disorder a person hears great but sounds are just sounds and there is hardly any connection between sounds and meaning. An audiologist can test hearing to determine whether sensorineural synapsext has developed. In many cases, this type of synapsext is medically or surgically treatable and hearing can be restored to normal. These hairs, our sensory receptors, cannot regenerate. In other situations, it does continue or seem worse with the improved hearing, and the tinnitus sounding louder.
Many hospital systems now provide infant hearing screenings during the hospitalization time following birth. Besides these basic types there is also hearing impairment due to insensitive to certain frequencies of sound. There is now an absence of the outside noises which are no longer covering up the tinnitus.
