He had offseason groin surgery and did not participate in any team activities this year. McGee returned to practice on October 17th, and had until tomorrow to be activated or shut down for the season. Jay Gruden has said the Redskins lineman would be active soon two weeks ago. Washington released veteran DL Ziggy Hood the day before McGee returned to practice. The youth movement on the DL meant the Redskins didn't need to rush McGee back D.J. Swearinger Jersey , but he is active now and will enter the rotation. The corresponding roster move to open up a spot for McGee was DB Kenny Ladler being waived. He had been active multiple games this year while Troy Apke was injured. Apke is now on IR, and the Redskins traded for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. With this move the Redskins have 4 safeties on the roster. Washington also swapped out practice squad tackles. Justin Evans has been replaced by Jarron Jones.
