promotion could signal the end of Hoyers time with the Browns. A Cleveland-area kid who grew up attending Browns games with his Antworten

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. Victor Mete Jersey . -- Tom Crean watched his young Hoosiers grow up Tuesday night. Stunned fans were overjoyed with the results. The turnovers and fouls were down. The defence improved and the Hoosiers did more than just play for pride -- they protected their home court against a team that hadnt lost all season. Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell scored 25 points, including two free throws with 18.1 seconds left, and freshman Stanford Robinson added a career-best 13 before grabbing the final rebound on a missed 3-pointer to preserve Indianas 75-72 upset over No. 3 Wisconsin -- a win that sent students streaming onto the court. "The program has had a lot of big wins. To the team, it means a great deal," Crean said. "To me, the team needs this. I mean we had a long week from Michigan State to Penn State but weve gotten a lot better, and we got a lot better the last couple of days. Its amazing what happens when some real confidence starts to come." The postgame celebration exemplified how critical the win was to a team that has been mostly inconsistent. Until Saturdays win at Penn State, the Hoosiers had beaten only one power conference foe -- Washington -- way back in November. Now they have two straight wins over Big Ten foes, taking down a team that had given it nothing but fits for seven years. Wisconsin (16-1, 3-1 Big Ten) entered the night as one of the nations last four unbeaten teams and was trying to become the first team to ever win 13 straight over Indiana. The tale of the tape appeared to be stacked against the Hoosiers, too. Somehow, though, Indiana (12-5, 2-2) responded with its best performance of the season. It committed only nine turnovers, limited Wisconsin to four free throws and somehow managed to dig itself out from a 10-point second-half deficit with a remarkable 12-0 run that gave the Hoosiers the lead for good. "Weve come very far, had a lot of early losses, but I felt like we learned from watching film," said Ferrell, a sophomore who has emerged as Indianas top scorer. "Weve been working hard in practice, but were not going to be content with it." Nor should they be. While Ferrell and Robinson led the way, only two other players -- senior Will Sheehey and freshman Noah Vonleh reached double figures. Sheehey had 13 points, Vonleh 11. They lost the rebounding battle 33-28 and allowed the Badgers to shoot 53.3 per cent from the field. They also struggled to defend Wisconsin guard Traevon Jackson, who had 16 of his career-high 21 in the second half. But it was the more experienced Badgers who got out of sorts late. Jackson missed a 3 from the top of the key with 12 seconds to go. Josh Gasser grabbed the rebound and flipped the ball out to Ben Brust in the corner, who rushed his shot with 5 seconds left and came up short. "When the clocks ticking in your head like that, he felt like there were two seconds to go or three," Badgers coach Bo Ryan said. "Also he felt that he needed to get the shot up in case the first touch from 3-point range is the call. There was actually just under four seconds left when the ball came down." All five Badgers starters scored in double figures -- Brust had 13, Gasser and Frank Kaminsky both had 11 and Sam Dekker finished with 10. But over the final 13 minutes, the Badgers had trouble scoring. The shooting woes gave Indiana the opening it so desperately needed, and after Crean called a timeout everything changed. Evan Gordon started the rally with a 17-foot jumper. Sheehey and Robinson followed that with consecutive layups. Vonleh finished the 12-0 run with a jumper in the paint to give Indiana a 54-52 lead with 8:58 left, and the Hoosiers never trailed again. But Wisconsin tied the score at 61 and closed to 73-72 on Kaminskys putback with 28.5 seconds left. Ferrell then made two free throws, the Badgers missed the two 3s -- and the crowd went wild over the Hoosiers their biggest win of the season. "Were not going to sit and watch this tape and have a pizza party and get some ice cream and say Wow, we couldnt have played any better," said Crean, who beat Ryan for the first time since he was hired by Indiana. "Were not. I think weve got a lot of potential, but you coach this game expecting to win." Saku Koivu Jersey . Heather, the first Gaiter to win the award, set a Canadian Inter-university Sport record with 3,132 passing yards in eight league games, an average of 391.5 yards per game. That beat the mark of 3,047 set only one week earlier by Westerns Will Finch, a Hec Crighton finalist. Pierre Turgeon Jersey . Mauer drove in two runs before leaving with an injury, Eduardo Nunez homered and the Minnesota Twins beat the Kansas City Royals 10-2 on Tuesday night.CLEVELAND - Johnny Footballs days as a backup are over this season.Hes getting his chance to start.Rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel will make his first NFL start Sunday against Cincinnati, replacing the slumping Brian Hoyer as Cleveland tries to pump life into its sagging playoff hopes. After moving up in Mays draft to get him and waiting seven months as he learned and watched from the sideline, the Browns are finally setting one of college footballs most captivating players loose with three games left in the season.Browns coach Mike Pettine made the expected switch on Tuesday after meeting with his staff and general manager Ray Farmer, then informing both quarterbacks. Many Browns fans have wanted the change for weeks as they watched Hoyer fumble away his dream job.Pettine said in a statement that the switch isnt about Hoyer or Manziel, but about the Browns. We are trying to get the offence to perform at a higher level, he said. Johnny has worked very hard to earn this opportunity and it will be very important for every member of the offence to elevate their play for us to obtain our desired result.Manziels debut start will come in Clevelands final home game, against a Bengals team Hoyer beat on Nov. 6. Manziel will try to show the Browns he can be the franchise quarterback theyve coveted for two decades.Manziel is the Browns 21st starting quarterback since 1999.Ive tried to spend my entire season learning what it takes to become a pro and its been great to watch Brian because he knows what it takes, Manziel said. Ive prepared every week to be ready to help the team however possible and my focus has been on improving every day.Even before Manziel was told hell start, the possibility sparked some controversy with Bengals coach Marvin Lewis calling the 6-footer a midget during a radio interview Monday night. Lewis later apologized, but the jab stirred the Ohio rivalry. The Browns really had no choice but to turn to Manziel. Hoyer has been awful in his last four games, throwing just one touchdown pass and eight interceptions. Doug Harvey Jersey. It hasnt been all Hoyers fault as teammates have dropped passes and run pass routes incorrectly, but Cleveland needs a spark and Manziel changed games in college with his legs and right arm.Pettine considered the switch a week ago but stuck with Hoyer, who has gone 10-6 as Clevelands starter. Hoyer had two interceptions Sunday as the Indianapolis Colts rallied from a 14-point deficit in the third quarter to win. Hoyer and the Browns offence picked up only three first downs in the second half.Manziels promotion could signal the end of Hoyers time with the Browns. A Cleveland-area kid who grew up attending Browns games with his dad, Hoyer, who battled back from a season-ending knee injury in 2013, is in the final year of his contract. With Manziel around, its likely Hoyer will have to sign elsewhere to remain an NFL starter.Although I am disappointed by coachs decision, I respect him and his choice and will be there to support Johnny, Hoyer said. As always, I will do whatever I can to help this team win.The No. 22 overall pick in this years draft, the popular and polarizing Manziel has been on the field just 18 plays this season. He came off the bench two weeks ago in the fourth quarter at Buffalo, completed 5 of 8 passes and scored on a 10-yard touchdown run.Manziel won the Heisman Trophy at Texas A&M, where his ability to improvise made him a star and earned him his Johnny Football nickname. The Browns are hoping he can perform some of that magic on Sundays.Manziel couldnt beat out Hoyer during training camp and the 22-year-olds off-the-field behaviour, which included weekend trips to Las Vegas, led to outside criticism of his maturity and commitment. The Browns held off on playing him until they felt he was ready, and now Pettine has put the teams season in Manziels hands.Johnny better be good.___AP NFL websites: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFL Wholesale Jerseys 2019 Cheap Jerseys Online Stitched Jerseys Youth NFL Jerseys China Wholesale NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Wholesale NFL White Jerseys ' ' '
