San Francisco 49ers receiver Victor Bolden has been suspended for the first four games of the regular season for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

The league announced the ban on Friday. Bolden will be eligible to participate in the offseason and preseason games and can return to the active roster on Oct. 1 Kyle Lauletta Jersey , following San Francisco's fourth game.

Bolden said in a statement that he unknowingly used a substance on the NFL banned list. He said he takes full responsibility for not verifying the ingredients of the supplement and will be better educated in the future.

Bolden spent last season on special teams where he returned 19 kicks for 396 yards and four punts for 23 yards.
The Los Angeles Chargers have exercised their fifth-year contract option for 2019 on running back Melvin Gordon.

The Bolts announced the long-expected move Wednesday.

Gordon is a workhorse ball-carrier for the Chargers, who had one of the NFL's most productive attacks last season.

Gordon finished fifth in the NFL with 1 Odell Beckham Jr Jersey ,581 yards from scrimmage during the Chargers' relocation season, while his 1 Harrison Butker Jersey ,105 yards rushing were seventh in the league.

The Wisconsin product was the 15th overall pick in the 2015 draft.

The Chargers chose prolific Northwestern running back Justin Jackson in the seventh round last week to provide depth behind Gordon and Austin Ekeler, who emerged as a surprisingly effective backup last season after signing as an undrafted free agent.
