RIO DE JANEIRO， Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Teenager Katie Ledecky said Thursday she is not thinking about the prospect of joining a select group of athletes to have won four gold medals in the same edition of the Olympic Games.
The 19-year-old has already claimed gold medals in the 200m freestyle， 400m freestyle and 4x200m freestyle relay at the Rio Games. She is widely expected to win another gold in the 800m freestyle on Friday.
"I've said it before， I try not to think too much about the history of anything，" Ledecky said after qualifying fastest for the final of her pet event on Thursday in an Olympic record of 8 minutes 12.86 seconds.
"I just take it one race at a time whatever that means. It's all just about doing my best every time."
Only 37 athletes - 18 of them American - have won four gold medals at the same Games since the dawn of the modern Olympics in 1896.
Ledecky， who is the 800m freestyle world record holder， said she only slept for around six hours after helping the USA win the 4x200m relay final on Wednesday night.
"I got to bed pretty late， or early， like 3:15. And I'm not one that's very good at sleeping in so I was up by about 9， 9:30，" Ledecky said. "I'm happy I get tonight off， get tomorrow [afternoon] off."
MANILA Cheap Men's Nike Air Max Plus Tartan Black University Red , July 11 (Xinhua) -- Philippine President Benigno Aquino III said Friday that he did not accept the resignation of Budget Secretary Florencio Abad who is currently embroiled in a controversy involving the government's economic stimulus package.
Aquino made the announcement during the presentation of the proposed 2015 budget in the presidential palace.
"(On Thursday), Secretary Abad gave me a letter tendering his resignation from the Cabinet. I have considered the same and I've decided not to accept his resignation," he said.
The clamor for Abad's resignation got stronger after the Supreme Court ruled that some parts the Philippine government's economic stimulus package, dubbed as the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP), was unconstitutional.
The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) said the DAP is " a stimulus package designed to fast-track public spending and push economic growth."
Approved by Aquino in October 2011, funds for the DAP came from savings generated by the Philippine government during the year.
On July 1, the Supreme Court declared as unconstitutional National Budget Circular 541 and other related issuances which served as the legal bases for DAP.
Under the circular, Aquino authorized the withdrawal of unobligated allotments of agencies with low levels of obligations as of June 30, 2012, both for continuing and current allotments.
The Supreme Court also ruled that the funding of projects, activities and programs that were not covered by appropriation in the General Appropriations Act approved by Congress is unconstitutional.
Aquino, however, said that the stimulus package has benefited the country and resulted in faster implementation of key public infrastructure projects.
