Lindstrom had surgery on his left ankle May 23, and Garcia also needed surgery after hurting his left shoulder attempting a diving catch April 9. "You look forward to when theyre healthy, more than sit there and wish they could have been there all year," Ventura said. "Its not productive to do that." Garcia was initially thought to be out for the season, and Lindstroms return was no sure thing either. Depending on whether any Bills assistants follow Pettine to Cleveland, Buffalo has several in-house assistants to consider, most notably linebackers coach Jim ONeil and defensive backs coach Donnie Henderson. Byrd played last season under a one-year contract after the Bills retained his rights by applying the franchise tag. The Bills have the option of tagging Byrd once more this off-season, but are also making a push to sign the player to a long-term contract.
