A stadium design previously approved by the government by London-based architect Zaha Hadid and central to Tokyo's winning bid to host the game for its sunken design, cost-cutting considerations and use of wood both for aesthetics and as an environmentally-conscious element Seth Jones Blue Jackets Jersey , was unceremoniously dumped by the government prior to this, who cited ballooning construction costs, as original estimates of 130 billion yen (1.07 billion U.S. dollars) somehow doubled in the two years after Tokyo was selected as the host city.
